The Street Supported Internship

This employment programme includes Clarks Village, Fusion Leisure Centre, UCS - Strode Campus and various employers, and is aimed at young people aged 16-24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or SEND and a desire to get a job. 

This is a full-time, 5 day-a-week programme where young people have on the job training , supported by a Discovery Job Coach, developing and learning skills needed for employment.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but students must have:

  • An EHCP or evidence of SEND
  • A strong desire to work
  • The ability to travel independently or a willingness to learn how to do so
  • The ability to work with a team or independently
  • Willingness to work towards timescales and performance indicators
  • Willingness to engage in a minimum of three days placement and a study day including English and Maths
  • Parents/carers who share your aspirations and provide support
