Somerset Council - Supported Internship

Who for: Young people aged 18-25 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) who may need support to transition into employment and with an interest in experiencing work within one of the largest employers in the county, Somerset Council.

Purpose: To develop independence skills and support transition into paid employment.

What: A full-time year-long programme comprising:

Structured Work Placement: With the opportunity to work across different departments within the council  :

This will be an opportunity to experience work within Somerset Council

Continuous Support: from dedicated staff throughout the programme

On-Site Lessons at College: Including numeracy and literacy as required, employability skills, and tutorials

Assessment: is ongoing and includes portfolio work and practical observations
