Palmer Gardens Trowbridge Supported Internship

Who for: Young people aged 16-24 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) who may need support to transition into employment

and with an interest in experiencing work at a garden centre

Purpose: To develop independence skills, build confidence and self-esteem and support transition into paid employment.

What: A year-long programme, term-time only, comprising:

Structured Work Placement: Work in different areas of the garden centre and café.

Examples of work placements can include:

Horticulture Skills

Grounds Maintenance

Catering and Hospitality

Continuous Personalised Support: from dedicated SEND-experienced staff throughout the programme

On-Site Lessons at College: including English, maths, employability skills, and tutorials

Assessment: is ongoing and includes portfolio work and practical observations
